A Stroll Through the House of the Lords of Kunštát
A Stroll Through the Public and Private Spaces of the House of the Lords of Kunštát
3 PM – 4 PM
Did you know that archaeologists uncovered Gothic brick fragments from the 13th century during excavations at the House of the Lords of Kunštát? The building’s Renaissance appearance, however, comes from a century later, when it was owned by the Kunštát family, for whom the building is named.
Have you ever wondered how a contemporary art gallery thrives inside one of the two last surviving Renaissance landmarks in Brno’s historical centre? Or how the archive of electronic art pioneers, Woody and Steina Vašulka, ended up here? And what hidden treasures — beyond what’s on display — are tucked away in the building and its courtyard? These are just a few of the questions we will answer during our walk. The programme will take you through both the building’s exterior and interior and is open to the general public.
