OFF-Friday BAW 2025 / PROCHÁZKA

The performative guided walk presents selected off-space galleries in Brno. The stops will lead through defunct, still functioning, and newly emerging galleries, introduced by their curators. The event will be led by artist and educator Kateřina Olivová, who will supplement the contributions in the galleries with her own memories and commentary. You are also invited to use the mobile mask and absurd costume rental, available during the walk. Involvement in fashion interventions is welcome but not mandatory. The event is open to all who are interested in the context of unestablished galleries.
It is possible to join the walk at any stop according to the time schedule.

OFF-Friday is an event focused on specific galleries with an emphasis on the Brno art scene. The curated program invites both professionals and the general public to celebrate and explore art that is accessible for free and outside the walls of traditional galleries. The event aims to make often community spaces accessible to regular visitors while also leading professional discussions on the topics of off-space galleries on an interdisciplinary scale. It is interested in supporting the alternative art scene in Brno, which builds on the continuous activities of the BAW. The program will also focus on the history of independent and non-established cultural organizations, whose significance and influence on shaping the cultural sphere resonates to the present day.
