Guided tour of the exhibition Pop Corn Panic: Stop
Guided tour of the new exhibition Pop Corn Panic: Stop. with artists Daniela Ponomarevová and Denisa Ponomarevová
Denisa’s work explores the cyber-expression of emotions through emoticons. In this exhibition, she presents what she calls Cronenbergian figures made from textiles—a meticulously woven mass of fabric, an immobile prop embodying excitement, joy, and uncertainty, all waiting in line for a fairground attraction. But it may not exist. Is this Schrödinger’s fairground attraction?
Daniela is a member of the Fairground & Cartoon Company. She doesn’t imitate reality, but brings it to life in a new form on steroids, giving it a grotesque character. Using drawings and cardboard, she creates components that reference the visual language of fairground objects and low-budget films. She is currently working on Funfiction, the world’s most fun amusement park.
