GEOFÓNIE / a sound installation in the CO.LABS construction site
The sound installation explores the geological context of our surroundings, focusing specifically on the limestone of Brno’s bedrock, represented through sound, kinetic, and light objects. This time, the installation is set in the raw, empty CO.LABS hall, which is currently under reconstruction. This offers a unique opportunity to visit the cultural center during its renovation.
A system of 15 objects creates an immersive environment where visitors can reflect on slow geological processes that continuously shape our planet. The installation incorporates various mineral sounds, the sonification of geological catastrophes, and the slow passage of time, merging sound art, geology, and light design.
These objects symbolize landslides, where slow and rapid sedimentary processes take place.
